I grew up in the suburbs, and I find that pink noise and suburbia are VERY synonymous. Pink noise is a sonic hue that contains low frequencies that are much more powerful than its higher frequencies. This noise can be described as “even” or “flat”. Nature is filled with pink noise: rain, wind, and rustling leaves. These are sounds that we can hear in the suburbs. The most compelling quality of pink noise is that it reduces brainwaves and improves sleep.

I can attest that suburbia is quiet, equalized, and even: The vernaculars. The clothes. The mentalities. Beliefs. Many individuals including myself have experienced the lack of awareness and consciousness displayed and in obtained from living in suburbia. Metaphysically speaking, lacking awareness and knowledge is being on "low frequency" or being asleep. Pink Noise explores the dark, unseen entity that causes this sleep in American suburbia and in the world as a whole.
