LAUNCHING THIS SUMMER
Jhentia is a fashion brand that empowers women, while blending the world traditional West African and early 2000s apparel.
The name Jhentia (jen-tee-uh) originates from my older sister, Jenny's Ivorian name "Djehintea," meaning "what I asked for" in Wobe, a langague spoken in Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast).
Inspired by the story of my mother and her immigration to America from Ivory Coast, Jhentia follows a woman striving to achieve her dreams, while struggling with assimilation. Subsequently, she learns to find beauty and strength from within, and her African roots.
